Who are Community Health Workers?
The Centers of Disease Control defines a Community Health Worker as “frontline public health worker who is a trusted member of a community or who has a thorough understanding of the community being served.” The role “Community Health Worker” has differing names depending on the setting and communities served (example: patient navigator, promotora, health educator).
